Do’s & Don’t At The Conference

Do’s

  • Wear your name badges at “ALL TIMES”.  We will be looking for everyone to especially have badges on when attempting to enter any of the meals.
  • Dress to Impress at all times. Business attire is what’s expected on each day of the conference.  If you don’t have business attire, please wear what you have brought to the conference given we are more concerned that you are at the conference than what you are wearing.
  • Take notes in all of your sessions so that you can reflect on your conference experience and be able to utilize knowledge learned back in your respective chapter/institution and day-to-day.
  • Engage the conference speakers and workshop faculty as much as possible in the sessions as well as after hours.  The conference time is an excellent opportunity to meet the SAAB Faculty in an “up-close & personal” fashion.
  • Network with others from the various institutions/schools attending the conference.  This is an excellent opportunity for the exchange of ideas with your fellow SAAB (B2B) “Brothers” and others attending the conference.
  • Exhibit appropriate behavior at all times.  SAAB conferences are a time for connecting, learning and reflecting.  Please be mindful that you are a reflection of the entire SAAB organization at all times—and even beyond the conference location.
  • Please turn-off cell phones, pagers and any other electronic devices that could be distracting/disturbing while in session
  • Please make your way to each session as quickly as possible as indicated on the schedule by group colors.  It is our desire to start and end each session on time given SAAB TIME… IS ON TIME!!!

Don’ts

  • Please refrain from wearing caps, hats, do-rags and other items that would not constitute business/business casual dress.
  • Please refrain from talking and sending/responding to text messages while in sessions.  It’s very disrespectful to others and especially the speakers/workshop presenters.
  • Please refrain from loitering in the hotel corridors during sessions.  It is expected that everyone will attend all sessions for the duration of the session.
  • Please do not be caught playing throughout and around the hotel during the conference weekend.  There are other guests in the hotel and we need to respect their stay as well.
  • Please do not hang out in the pool area without someone else (preferably a swimmer) with you.  The hotel has its on policy governing the pool area and we encourage all conference participants to govern accordingly.
  • Please refrain from unsafe practices that might threaten yours and/or others safety.  Use your own judgment in this case and exercise common sense.

ENJOY YOUR CONFERENCE EXPERIENCE!!!

Thanks!
